I USED TO BE HUMAN

This is a re-drawing of a story I read as a little boy around 1969 or so from the Fantastic Annual 1968 which made me cry at the end.
I started working on it as a demo for my pre-college students and had inked only the first page when I heard that artist Steve Ditko had passed on. I stopped working on it for a few months, then decided to just get on with it. Then writer Stan Lee died. I eventually finished it off.
The dialogue is altered gender-wise, but apart from that, it's all as Stan wrote it, with Art Simek's original lettering.
Though it was stretched from 5 to 8 pages, it tries to honour Ditko's designs
